Inauguration ceremony of PMKK Centre, Don TS Bosco Tech Society at Don Bosco Kokar, Ranchi.

Hon'ble President Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra ( PMKK) at Don Bosco Industrial Training Institute, Kokar on Sunday 2nd April 2017 by video conferencing from Deoghar, Jharkhand . Don Bosco Tech Society in partnership with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) initiated this aspirational model training centre under the flagship skill development initiative, “Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK)”.

Don Bosco Tech, PMKK training centre was established at Don Bosco Industrial Training Centre with the strong urge to impart valuable skills and create a stable future for the underprivileged and deserving youth. This is the first PMKK centre at Ranchi. The centre offer training in six job roles namely Sales Associate, Food and Beverage – Steward, Assistant Electrician, Manual Metal Arc Welding / Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Automotive Service Technician.

At the venue, Shri Ram Tahal Chaudhary (Member of Parliament, Ranchi), inaugurated the PMKK centre at Don Bosco Kokar in the presence of Dr. Jitu Charan Ram (Member of Legislative Assembly, Ranchi), Shri Tushar Vijayvargiya, (Parliamentary Representative), Mr. Thushar Vijay Vargiya, (Parliamentary Representative), Father A.M. Joseph (Executive Director, Don Bosco Tech Society) Father Shilanad Kerketta, Rector of Don Bosco Kokar, Father Noble, Principal Don Bosco Industrial Training Centre, staff, students and local authorities. On this occasion, the online live telecast of the opening was shown at the center. All the dignitaries were warmed welcomed by the band Party and bouquet of flowers. It was great day for all DB Tech Family.

In his Inaugural speech, Shri Ram Tahal Chowdhary said, “today we need to promote the skill base education. He also complimented Don Bosco Tech and its mission. Young people need to master their skills so that they will have bright future....”

In his Speech  Dr. Jitu Charan Ram said , “ without skill, the goal cannot be achieved. In order to achieve the goal, Skill  is required as well as education. In such a situation, the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra ( PMKK) will provide training for employment  to  the youth. Unskilled person is useless today. So we need skill to secure our life and our life style.”

Addressing the youngsters Fr. AM Joseph (executive Dirctor- DB Tech)  , “this is a great opportunity to join hands with the government to bring skills training to the youth of our country. Today, society needs quality services which presupposes qualified labour, what Don Bosco offers in skill with focus on life skills that prepares them to integrate in society and lead a dignified life”.

In the skill sector, Don Bosco Tech Society is a network of more than 400 skill training centres that attempts to bridge this widening. Don Bosco Tech will be setting up 30 PMKK centres in Karnataka, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Jammu & Kashmir, Arunachal Pradesh and Delhi. In Jharkhand, Don Bosco Tech will initiate the PMKK centres in Hazaribagh, Kodarma, Lohardhaga and Ramgarh etc.

At the end all the guests were honoured by the momento and Program was concluded with national Anthem.
