Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra at Don Bosco Kokar , Ranchi was inaugurated on 2nd April 2016 by Hon'ble President Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra ( PMKK) at Don Bosco Industrial Training Institute, Kokar on Sunday 2nd April 2017 by video conferencing from Deoghar, Jharkhand . Don Bosco Tech Society in partnership with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) initiated this aspirational model training centre under the flagship skill development initiative, “Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK)”.

Don Bosco Tech, PMKK training centre was established at Don Bosco Industrial Training Centre with the strong urge to impart valuable skills and create a stable future for the underprivileged and deserving youth. This is the first PMKK centre at Ranchi. The centre offer training in six job roles namely Sales Associate, Food and Beverage – Steward, Assistant Electrician, Manual Metal Arc Welding / Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Automotive Service Technician.

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) along with National Skill Development Corporation NSDC, is making continuous efforts to skill the unskilled population of the country with the vision of making India, the ‘Skill Capital of the World’. The Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK) is a huge step in establishing a model and iconic centre of excellence for skill development. MSDE intends to establish visible and aspirational Model Training Centres (MTCs) in every district of the country. NSDC is the implementation agency for the project. The model training centres envisage to: • Create benchmark institutions that demonstrate aspirational value for competency-based skill development training. • Focus on elements of quality, sustainability and Connection with stakeholders in skills delivery process. • Transform from a Mandate-driven footloose model to a sustainable institutional model. These training centres will be state-of-the-art Model Training Centres, called as Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra ( PMKK ).
